Up late, still readjusting after night shifts. Morning activities, usual and unsual. I acknowledge various beginnings.
I check few things on the internet, then almost get sucked into useless clicking away which was not even fun.
Outside it's a sunny day. The street I'm living in is fairly quiet, but walk 3 minutes from here and you get to a very busy route - Fallowfield (student's area) - City Centre.
Work with guitar. The battery in my metronome is gone, so I check online and there's actually a good one you can use for free: http://www.metronomeonline.com/
Then J.O.T.D. It has immediate positive effect on my personal state.
For lunch I have a soup that Ania gave me. It's spicy and ideal for the cold time like this, it warms up nicely.
After this I leave to meet up a AT trainee friend. I take time to walk to the centre, although the street is noisy and the streets are very crowded, it's also sunny and I'm enjoying it. We have a cup of coffee and very nice chat. She mentions an old teacher that holds group meeting twice a week in Manchester, and I suggest to pay him a visit before I leave this place. We make plans for the next week.
In the evening I turn the 'practice' button fully on, 4 hours of guitar done. That was in one hour blocks (right hand, left hand, right hand->repertoire, repertoire-quality exercise)
In the meantime I call my parents to let them know about plans for Christmas ! Last time when I went home for Christmas was in 2004, what ? 4 years ago ? So it's easy to understand how determined I was to make it this time. The plane tickets were actually ridiculously expensive but not when you are flying to Prague, ha! From there it should be easy to catch the train. Last time it was the night service to Moscow, quite a special experience!
Also go for AT lie down, short, but intensive. I visualize teacher's hand on which allows deep release in the shoulder, back rearranged. Also some reading.
I feel in the mood for choral music now, so put Tavener cd on, a gift from a person met during travels in Ireland, Summer 2003. Quite a special recording.
It's 2.19 am, 'it's never too late' says the night creature...
