FRIDAY 21st November 2008
A sunny day with a clear air and sky so far. Is it really the end of November in North Yorkshire ?
...
In the afternoon it gets more and more cloudy, and finally, the sky is completely covered with them. The rain starts falling, and even snow for a little while, but it quickly melts away, as it usually does here.
...
And in the evening the sky is overwhelmingly dark, some ominous black clouds out there. If we were not in the lit town, it would be pitch black, for sure.
A visited friend prepared some traditional, quite unusual food I just have to describe here - TATAR: it's a very finely minced raw loin, mixed with chopped pickled cucumber and onions. On top of this you put a raw egg, plus some basic spices, and mix it all together. You usually have it with a shot of vodka, as we did... Excellent treat.
And in the morning next day the sun is out again and the day came the full circle. My mother wrote it's cold and it's snowing in Poland today.
